Day 17: Presents (late)

Playing catch up again!

I can't take a picture of presents because I have not wrapped any of them yet. I saw this display at Macy's and wish it was under my tree!

Day 16: Outside Christmas Lights (late)

ACK! Despite my best efforts, it seems like I am constantly running a day behind. Better late then never though right? I was really excited for Sunday's (yesterday) challenge because it was an excuse to drag Nick down all of my favorite stores down 5th Ave and NYC parks to look at all the pretty Christmas lights. Unfortunately, I came down with a cold and was bound to my couch all day. Bummer! But I thought this picture would be a good representation for this day:

At the end of November (right before the photo challenge started!), Perryn, Kyo, Maggie, and I went out for a belated bday dinner for Perryn and walked along 5th to see all the pretty holiday window displays. Barney's was my favorite! It was a video with all my favorite Disney characters walking down the runway in beautiful designer clothes. Disney + Fashion = AMAZINGNESS! Anyway, our night ended in front of the Rockefeller Christmas Tree. Thought this was fitting as it represents Outside Christmas Lights with Maggie and Perryn who are also participating in the photo challenge! Check out their blogs to see their photos!

It's not too late to join. We're only halfway there:

Day 15: Favorite Holiday Song (late)

Nick and I went to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra Holiday Concert. I love all of their holiday songs. My favorite one was "O Come All Ye Faithful".

Day 14: Christmas Tree

Day 13: Family (late)

Day 12: A Beautiful Sight (late)

Nick's friend Brian came to visit for a few days. Nick and Brian lived together for 4 years when Brian first moved to New York. Last year was a big year for them as they both decided to "grow up" not only in terms of their living arrangements but also in their relationships. Nick moved into a one bedroom by himself while Brian moved to Chicago to close to his then girlfriend (now wife!) Liz. Then this year, both Nick and Brian got married. This visit was Brian's first visit to the Big Apple since he officially moved to Chicago (over a year ago!). I love observing these two play with each other (this is how a proud mama must feel like when her kid is playing with a friend in daycare). Watching this bromance was, to me, a beautiful sight!

Day 11: Green (late)

This is neither festive nor cheery, but this is the reality of what my December looks like.

Day 10: Wrapping Paper (late)

I'm running a few days behind on this photo challenge so lots of catch up posts today! In my defense, I have been taking the pictures everyday.... I have just been a delinquent about uploading them. This is CVS's stock of wrapping paper. How cute is the penguin one?!

Day 9: Something you are reading (late)

A friend recommended this book to me the other day. I just downloaded it on my Kindle. Even though I'm only a couple of chapters in, I am LOVING it!

Day 8: Ornament(s)

My friend Michelle got us this ornament as part of a wedding gift. It was the first ornament that we put on our tree. I love it!!

Day 7: Bright

My new Christmas candle!

Day 6: Shopping

In the spirit of December, I'm sure the photo challenge meant shopping for Christmas gifts. However, I am surprisingly WITH IT this year and have done all of my Christmas shopping (except for Nick's) before Thanksgiving. Who am I?? So I took this challenge as an opportunity to go shopping for myself (HA!). I'm on the market for a winter peacoat. I've been searching for one for the past 3 years. I've been very impressed with Zara's coat selection this season so thought I would stop in and do some window shopping. What do you think about the jacket above?

Day 5: Today's temperature

Sunny with a sprinkle of holiday cheer :)

Day 4: Joyous

I've been looking forward to the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show for the past month. My favorite angel these days is Miranda Kerr. I also love Alessandra Ambrosio. So today, this is giving me joy.

The Royal Baby

I am irrationally excited about the news that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting a baby. I've wasted the better part of my morning scouring the internet for any additional news on the royal heir and scrutinizing pictures of Kate's recent appearances for any signs of pregnancy bloat or bump [please don't judge me!]. I also excitedly emailed Nick as soon as I saw the news and this was his response to me:

I am happy to know that my husband of almost 9 months knows me so well.

Day 3: Red

With the addition of this beauty, my apt is starting to look and feel like Christmas. Kobes, we are ready for you!

Day 2: Favorite Holiday Movie

Nick and I have been on the search for a holiday movie that we both enjoy to kick off the holidays. Unfortunately, he and I have very different taste in movies. I love Love Actually while he loves A Christmas Story. Tonight, I was introduced to Nick's other favorite Christmas movie, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. I thought I would hate it because I am not a big fan of slap stick comedy but found myself enjoying it very much. We found our movie! I look forward to starting a tradition of watching this movie to kick off the holidays for many years to come.

Check out Perryn, and Maggie's blogs for their take on Capturing December photo challenge.

Dusting the cobwebs off with a photo challenge

I've been itching to blog again. But seeing as how this blog hadn't been used since April, I was feeling overwhelmed. I was going to put "start blogging again" to my 2013 resolutions list and push it off for a few more weeks. Then a couple of things happened. A few days ago, Perryn encouraged me to start blogging again. As she had also been neglecting her blog, we sort of joked around about how we should hold each other more accountable. Then this afternoon, a high school friend, Maria, post this fun challenge on her blog.

I posted this on Perryn's Facebook wall to give her some inspiration. Maggie suggested that we all do this together. Can't think of a better way to get back into the blogging groove so... here we go!

Day 1: Your view today

This was my view while walking home from Home Depot.
